Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Zahara, joins Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, just joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

A video that Essence posted of the college student introducing herself before joining her new sorority sisters at Spelman College captured the moment.

“Hello, I’m Zahara Marley,” she exclaimed, waving her hair and then saying, “Jolie!” As the audience applauded her, she also said that she was born in Los Angeles.

“Go Ivies! The magazine captioned the video, saying, “The first Black sorority just gained a very familiar face as a member.” “Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has just joined @SpelmanCollege’s Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.” Congratulations!”

The first intercollegiate historically African American sorority was Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., which was established in 1908 on the Howard University campus in Washington, D.C. The sisterhood has more than 1,064 chapters and more than 355,000 initiated members, according to their website. High-profile members of the sorority include comedian Wanda Sykes, actress Phylicia Rashad, late Dr. Maya Angelou, and vice president Kamala Harris.

Jolie revealed in July 2022 that her daughter would be enrolled at Atlanta, Georgia’s historically Black liberal arts college, Spelman College.

The month after, Jolie sent her kid off at school, clearly emotional.

“I am going to cry.” In a video that was uploaded to Darryl Holloman’s Instagram in August 2022, Jolie said, “I haven’t begun sobbing yet.

Jolie was informed that she would have “plenty of time to cry” at one of the upcoming ceremonies as she was standing next to Dr. Helene Gayle, the president of the school.

When Holloman asked the actor and philanthropist about his feelings as a Spelman mother, the actor answered, “I’m so excited.” I’m overjoyed.

It is anticipated that Jolie-Pitt will graduate with the class of 2026.

“We are delighted that Zahara Jolie-Pitt and her family selected Spelman College, and we cordially welcome Zahara into the Spelman sisterhood,” Gayle previously emailed TODAY.com upon learning of Jolie-Pitt’s choice. There is nothing quite like Spelman, the top HBCU in the nation, which has fostered Black women’s academic success and education for more than 140 years. Additionally, it boasts a vast network of alumni who have changed and are still changing the world.
