The Best French Toast

Creating the best French toast involves a combination of using the right ingredients, proper preparation, and cooking techniques.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or use cooking spray to coat the surface.

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Ensure the ingredients are well combined.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not overly saturated. Allow excess batter to drip off.

Place the soaked bread slices onto the preheated pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until both sides are golden brown and the center is cooked through.

If you're cooking in batches, you can keep the cooked French toast warm by placing it on a baking sheet in a preheated oven (around 200°F or 95°C).

Serve the French toast hot with your favorite toppings. Maple syrup, fresh berries, powdered sugar, and a dollop of whipped cream are classic choices.
