UFO sightings growing across the U.S., lawmakers demand more info

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of reported UFO sightings in the United States. This has led to a growing demand from lawmakers for more information from the government about UFOs.

In July 2023, a House subcommittee held a hearing on UFOs, the first such hearing in over 50 years. At the hearing, three former defense officials testified that the government has been too secretive about UFO sightings.

The intelligence community has argued that releasing more information about UFOs could hurt national security.

Lawmakers are not satisfied with the government's explanation. They say that the government needs to be more open about what it knows about UFOs.

In 2020, the Navy released videos of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) that were seen by Navy pilots off the coast of California.

In 2021, a report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) found that there have been 144 reports of UAP since 2004 that cannot be explained.

The increasing number of UFO sightings and the lack of clear explanations from the government have led to a growing public interest in UFOs.
