Video: Historic Swell Slams Hawaii, Pro Surfers Go Survival Mode at Outer Reefs

 Waimea Bay and other outer reefs on Oahu's North Shore were hit by a historic swell, producing some of the biggest waves ever recorded.

Pro surfers from around the world flocked to the North Shore to test their skills against the massive waves.

The swell was so powerful that even experienced surfers were challenged by the conditions.

Some surfers were forced to go into survival mode as they were pounded by waves and dragged underwater.

Despite the dangers, the surfers were also exhilarated by the challenge of riding such massive waves.

Many surfers were forced to abandon their boards and swim to shore.
